ENROLLMENT: FALL 2025

ABC

The Academic Bare Essentials (ABC) seeks to take students through a transformative educational journey through the profound and multifaceted sciences of Islam. The overarching objective of the program is to equip students with the ability to contextualize the structure of Islam as it has developed over the centuries, simultaneously enriching them with the tools to work towards Islamic scholarship at the highest level. Successful students are expected to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the following areas:

CORE SUBJECT MATTERS

Uṣūl al-Ḥadīth: Bayquniyyah, Nuzhat al-Naẓr, and Tadrīb al-Rāwī
Ḥadīth: Arba'īn al-Nawawī, Dawrat al-Ḥadīth (Kutub al-Sittah), and selections from other compilations
Uṣūl al-Fiqh & Fiqh: Comprehensive Ḥanafī fiqh curriculum with brief explorations into other madhāhib
Tārīkh: Sīrah, al-Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ, and general history
‘Aqīdah: Ṭaḥāwiyyah, Dialectical theology, Ibn Taymiyyan theology, and Heresiology
Spirituality: Masnūn adhkār, al-Asmā' Allāh al-Ḥusnā, selections from the Iḥyā, and other works
Ā`lāt: Trivium, Liberal Arts, Speech training, and tackling the Western Philosophical tradition
